Melissa-Kay Grey

Artistic and Program Director, Interactive Flute Retreat

Melissa maintains a career as an active performer and educator, having performed and presented masterclasses throughout the country including Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Michigan. In 2013, she co-founded and is the current director of the Interactive Flute Retreat, Michigan Flute Camp (2018), as well as directed the Carolina Flute Camp through 2015. She is a member of the National Flute Association, South East Michigan Flute Association and Mu Phi Epsilon.

Melissa Grey, MM currently teaches in her Ann Arbor private studio, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Susan Whitener

President and Hospitality Director, Interactive Flute Retreat

Sue has been an active soloist, orchestral musician and flute teacher for over 30 years. Orchestral experience throughout her career have included the Plymouth Symphony Orchestra, Jackson Symphony Orchestra (Acting Principle Flute), Orchestra Canton, as well as Michigan Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Mrs. Whitener performs with Michigan Flute Orchestra and Saline Flute Song. She is Treasurer for Ann Arbor Society for Musical Arts, and the Ann Arbor Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, an international professional music fraternity, from 1994 to the present..
